Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thailand fighter, mixed martial artist, and fights at the UFC flyweight division. She is the sister of another fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports began as a Muay Thai competitor. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and later defeated Suzane Mller by unanimous vote. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007 and a medal that was bronze in 2008 as well as the gold medal in 2011. In addition, she was named IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champ in 2016. Antonia was first introduced to the professional world in with her debut in 2003. She was the winner of the WKC K-1 World Championship 2012 for Light Welterweight along with the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships in 2016, as well as the WMC World Championships as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Keskikangas of the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won the fight via unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko shattered the professional MMA record in 2002 at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She won with a TKO in the second round and was able to take home her 2 next fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. This gave her an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a break from MMA in order to focus on her kickboxing, and she was able to make her return to fight Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko beat Anissa by unanimous decision, and then she defeated Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She left the Phoenix FC 4 promotion in 2018 to join Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko was a fighter against Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina Shevchenko defeated Nievera thanks to her impressive striking ability when she clinched by striking her with her knees. The result was that Antonina was awarded an UFC contract. Antonina took part in her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight after winning the first fight via unanimous decision. Antonina came back from losing after defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. She was awarded the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko lost 1-2 in her next 3 fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, but lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently knocked out by TKO in the second round against Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
